Subject: Woodworking Project Request – Entryway Bench
To: tvwoodworkers@gmail.com <tvwoodworkers@gmail.com>

Dear Woodworkers,

I hope this note finds you well. I’m reaching out to see if anyone might be interested in taking on a custom project for our home.

We’re looking to add an entryway bench just inside our front door. Since the space is open rather than a closed foyer, we’re hoping for a piece that is simple in design but has a solid, well-crafted feel that complements the room.

At a high level, the bench would be constructed from paintable solid wood and include three storage compartments with hinged doors, three shallow drawers above, and a framed seat with a low backrest designed to hold a removable 2” cushion (which we would supply separately). The approximate overall dimensions would be 48” wide, 18” deep, and about 22–24” high to the top of the cushion.

I’ve put together a basic mock-up to help visualize the concept and would be happy to work through any design details with anyone who might be interested. (see image below)

Thank you very much for considering this request and for all the great work the club does. I would truly appreciate any interest or guidance.

Best regards,

Tom Crank, 118 Wewoka Way

This page is a list of service requests for woodworkers to assist with a project by a community neighbor. All requests will remain here for a period of 60 days and then deleted.  If you are interested in the project, please contact the requestor directly.  All negotiations are between the member and the requestor; the club has no further involvement in the project.

4/7/26 – Contractor Services, please see the request below from Jackie a TV resident looking for a contractor to build a bookcase using her wood, and potentially donate some of the remaining wood. Please reach out to Jackie direct via her email below if interested.

Thank You John Miranda

Hi. I would like for someone to build the book shelf, AND i can also donate some wood.

Thanks!

Jackie

Hi John. Sure, that’s fine. I would like to be in contact with anyone interested in doing this project. I have 4 pine planks that are stained. They’re 4” wide by 11 feet long. It’s what’s left over from a previous project.

I also have several pieces of popular left over from another project.

It would be nice to put these beautiful pieces of wood to good use.

So, best way to contact me is via this email address.

Thanks.

Jackie

I’m interested in having a sideboard built for additional storage space and was wondering if that’s something with which the woodworking club could help me.  I’m attaching a picture of the space in which I’d like it built.  I’m also attaching a picture of a sample sideboard and ours could be as simple as this from a design standpoint.  Any ideas would be welcome!  I have the stain from the TV mount and shelf so matching color won’t be a problem.

Space Dimensions:

58.5″W

16″D from back wall to inside of window frame

43″ from the bottom of the shelf to the floor.  Probably want 8-10 inches between the bottom of the shelf and top of sideboard

Please let me know if this is a project in which one of the woodworkers would be interested.

Thanks!

Kim
