AutoCaption is an Adobe After Effects plugin that generates captions automatically from any audio or video source. It reads common formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, MP3, WAV, M4A and FLAC, and imposes no file‑size limit because audio is extracted locally. The plugin detects and transcribes over 100 languages, offering full right‑to‑left support for Arabic and Hebrew and per‑character animation for Chinese, Japanese and Korean. It includes more than 60 animated caption styles, with word‑by‑word highlighting synced to the voice. Captions can be generated either online or fully offline, requiring no internet connection. Processing time scales with clip length, and transcription accuracy depends on audio clarity. Version 4.5.0 was last updated on June 26, 2026.
