About AEP Version Updater

AEP Version Updater is a script for Adobe After Effects that opens and re‑saves .AEP project files into a newer version, handling multiple files in a single batch. The interface provides a Folder tab and a Files tab, allowing you to select individual AEP files or an entire folder. An “Include subfolders” option enables processing of files nested in subfolders. You can choose to keep the original files, overwrite them, or add a custom suffix to the updated versions. Files that cannot be processed, such as corrupted projects or those saved in versions that are too old, are detected and reported. Compatibility includes After Effects CS6 through the 2024 release, covering a broad range of legacy project files.
