About Springy FX
Springy FX is a Fremox toolset for After Effects focused on adding secondary, springy motion to layers based on their keyframed transform properties. The suite provides nine tools presented as clickable buttons that can be arranged horizontally or vertically, with optional labels. Position‑based deformers such as Bend, Shear, Squash & Stretch, Jiggle, Bulge, Twist and Liquid operate on solid, footage, or pre‑composition layers; Shape and Text layers are not supported by these deformers. A springy Parent constraint lets one layer follow another with a delayed bounce, while the Custom effect applies springy motion to any numeric single‑dimension property of an effect, including plugin parameters like those in Element 3D or Joystick ’n’ Sliders. Version 1.5 introduces a Rope Connection that draws a dynamic springy rope as a Shape layer path between two selected layers, with controls for elasticity, damping, and sagging. An optional PSR Properties panel lets users enable or disable specific transform properties for spring calculations, and ALT‑clicking any tool button displays a descriptive summary.
Features
- Nine tools presented as buttons with icons, arranged as a horizontal row or a vertical column, with or without labels
- Seven jiggling deformers: Bend, Shear, Squash & Stretch, Jiggle, Bulge, Twist and Liquid
- Springy Parent constraint that makes the first selected layer follow the second with a springy delay
- Custom effect that applies springy motion to any numeric single-dimension property belonging to an effect, based on keyframed motion on a chosen layer and axis, including plugin properties like Element 3D or Joystick ‘n’ Sliders
- Rope Connection (new in v1.5) that creates a dynamic springy rope as a Shape layer path between two selected layers, with adjustable Rope Elasticity, Damping and Rope Sagging Length
- PSR Properties panel to enable or disable which transform properties are analysed for the spring computing
- ALT (OPTION) click on any tool button opens a descriptive summary of what the tool is and how it works
Best for
Motion designers and animators who need secondary, overlapping motion on keyframed layers in After Effects.
Frequently asked questions
What After Effects versions does Springy FX support?

How do I install Springy FX in After Effects?
Install Springy FX by restarting After Effects, then launching SpringyFX.jsxbin from the Window menu and docking the panel as desired.
What layer types work with Springy FX deformers?
The position‑based deformers work with solid, footage, or pre‑composition layers; Shape and Text layers cannot be deformed with these tools.
Can Springy FX add springy motion to plugin effect properties?
The Custom effect can apply springy motion to any numeric single‑dimension property of a plugin effect, such as parameters in Element 3D or Joystick ’n’ Sliders, but not to multi‑dimension, dropdown, color, transform, mask, geometry, or group properties.
Is Springy FX free?
The catalog lists Springy FX as free, but pricing and licensing terms may change, so users should verify the current conditions on the developer’s page.
