About AAF Relinker

AAF Relinker is a script for Adobe After Effects that automates the relinking of footage when source file names or durations do not exactly match. Designed with AAF import workflows in mind, the tool operates through three simple buttons. It includes a Grab Names option that uses layer names instead of source names, and a Similar Names option that limits relinking to footage with closely matching names. Version 1.1 added support for image sequences, and version 1.2 introduced the ability to link footage solely by name. Compatibility covers After Effects CC 2014 through CC 2019 and the 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 releases. A demo video demonstrates the process.
