Tracker Solver is an After Effects plugin that converts a few position keyframes from a 2D layer into a 3D point by triangulating with the active camera’s motion and settings.
Developed by Mike Sevigny.

About Tracker Solver
Tracker Solver extracts position keyframes from a 2D layer and computes a true 3D position in the active After Effects camera. It triangulates using the camera’s motion and works with any After Effects camera, including those imported from third‑party applications, and can also accept Mocha tracking data. A minimum of three keyframes is required; adding more increases accuracy, especially when camera movement is limited. The plugin does not support cameras with animated zoom or Point of Interest cameras and processes one layer at a time. It is compatible with After Effects releases from CS6 through the 2026 version. A demo video is available on the developer’s aescripts page.
Features
- Triangulates the true 3D position in your scene using the active camera’s motion and settings
- Works with any After Effects camera, including those imported from third-party applications
- Requires a minimum of three keyframes to solve, with additional keyframes increasing accuracy
- Can use Mocha data when solving a 3D position
- Solves or unsolves one layer at a time
- Cameras with animated zoom and Point of Interest cameras are not supported
Best for
After Effects artists who need to derive a 3D position in the active camera from a small set of 2D position keyframes.
