Extrudalizer is an After Effects script that turns any 2D shape layer into a virtual 3D extrusion, offering depth, position, rotation and scale controls while preserving the original 2D path.
Developed by IVG Design.

About Extrudalizer
Extrudalizer operates inside Adobe After Effects and converts 2D shape layers into extruded shapes that exist in a virtual 3D space. When you press the Extrudalize button a custom controller and a helper text layer are added, exposing parameters for extrusion depth, front and back face positioning, scaling, pitch, orbit, wireframe mode, edge stroke, translucency, and per‑face color or gradient settings. Artwork can be mapped to any face, and Corner Pin or Transform effects can be swapped as needed. Pre‑Extrudalize options let you set appearance defaults and the number of sections for curved segments. The resulting extrusion can be exported directly as a 100% Lottie‑compatible file for web use, or baked to keyframes for iOS and Android via the Bodymovin plugin.
Features
- Extrudes 2D shape layers into virtual 3D space with control over depth, position, rotation, and scale
- 2D path animation translates into 3D animation on the Extrudalized shape
- Artwork mapping to any face, with conversion between Corner Pin and Transform effects and per-face re-coloring
- Appearance controls including wireframe mode, edge stroke, translucency, and front/back/side color and gradient settings
- 100% Lottie compatible export for web without baking, plus baking for Lottie on iOS and Android
- Pre-Extrudalize options for face appearance, side shading, and the number of sections per curved segment
- Reposition Origin Anchor dialog and visible centroid crosshairs (new in 1.2.0)
Best for
After Effects creators who need to generate extruded 3D shapes from 2D layers and export them to Lottie for web or mobile applications.
