About Ray Projector

Ray Projector, developed by irrealix, extracts edges from a source image and creates 3D models through GPU‑accelerated extrusion. The resulting geometry can be shaded using environment maps drawn from built‑in presets or supplied as a custom layer, and a gradient color is applied along the extrusion axis for a smooth transition effect. The plugin supports After Effects releases from 2020 through 2026. This is the initial version (1.0.0) released on April 1, 2026. A demo video demonstrating the workflow is provided by the developer.

Features

  • GPU-accelerated extrusion of image edges into 3D models
  • Edge detection that drives the extrusion
  • Environment-map shading using presets or a custom layer
  • Gradient coloring applied along the extrusion axis
  • Compatible with After Effects 2020 through 2026

Best for

After Effects users who need to generate shaded 3D geometry from image edges with GPU‑accelerated performance.
