About Boundary Fill
Boundary Fill is an After Effects plugin designed to decorate the boundaries of text layers. Effects are applied directly to the text layers and the plugin works with text animators, allowing straightforward control. Features include Dynamic Opacity, which links fill opacity to the opacity of pixels within the boundary, and Dynamic Size, which links fill size to the boundary size. Additional controls such as Scale By Saved Ratio, Position, Opacity, Overlap Distance, and Overlap Smoothness let users fine‑tune how textures interact with the text. Version 2.2.0, released on June 19, 2025, is compatible with After Effects 2025, 2024, and 2023. The plugin is listed in the aescripts library and a demo video is provided.
Features
- Dynamic Opacity makes the fill opacity proportional to the opacity of pixels within the boundary
- Dynamic Size makes the fill size proportional to the boundary size
- Scale By Saved Ratio scales the texture to 100% size based on the saved size from Text Save
- Position changes the text position according to the texture’s position, and Opacity adjusts the text opacity according to the texture’s opacity
- Overlap Distance prevents lines from being generated around the boundary
- Overlap Smoothness softens the Overlap Distance by adjusting the opacity
