About Captione Engine Lite
Captione Engine Lite is a CEP extension panel for Adobe After Effects that converts SRT, WebVTT (VTT), and TTML caption files into an editable subtitle rig. It creates a reusable setup driven by one text layer and layer markers, letting you style all captions at once—safe margins, position offsets, box, padding, corner radius, and opacity. Timing is frame‑accurate with options to snap to frames, enforce minimum durations, and auto‑trim overlapping cues. The panel automatically cleans source files by stripping formatting tags, removing bracketed SFX text, and normalizing whitespace. Revised caption files can be re‑imported to update text and timing while preserving existing styling and rig. When more complex compositing is required, captions can be split into individual layers. This Lite version includes a 7‑day unrestricted trial; continued use after the trial requires the paid full version.
