About CropROI
CropROI is a script for Adobe After Effects that crops a precomposition to its Region of Interest without moving the layer in the main composition. After defining a ROI inside a pre‑comp, you return to the main comp, select the pre‑comp layer, and click the CropROI button to apply the crop. The script runs on After Effects CS6 and later, covering CC versions and releases through 2025. Version 1.2, released September 30 2023, resolved bugs where the pre‑comp or its child layers could shift after cropping. The tool is provided by Aris Melachroinos and is listed as free in the catalog.
