About Depth Scanner

Depth Scanner uses artificial intelligence to estimate depth automatically, producing depth maps from still images and video within After Effects and Premiere Pro. Version 2 adds a dedicated video depth model that minimizes flicker across frames and expands the offering to eight AI models, allowing users to choose the best fit for their footage. The generated depth maps can drive effects such as fog, depth‑based colour grading, transitions, stereo‑3D conversion, footage slicing by pixel depth, and post‑process depth of field using After Effects’ native blur tools. More than 20 colour maps are provided for visual guidance or creative effects. The plugin runs on macOS and Windows; on Windows the GPU version requires an Nvidia graphics card, though GPU mode may be less stable than CPU mode. A free trial is available for testing compatibility before purchase.
