About Hover

Hover is a script for After Effects that handles animated cursor interactions, including hover hands, grab hands, and button clicks. It generates a cursor icon, creates click animations that can be retimed by dragging a single layer, and automatically switches to a pointer hand when over any button while adjusting the button’s brightness. The script also supports grabbing and releasing layers, changing the cursor to a grabbing hand icon. Users can replace the cursor icon by updating the cursor precomposition. Version 1.2.0, released April 15 2025, is compatible with After Effects CC 2017 through 2026, covering releases from 2020 to 2026 and older CC versions. A demo video is provided in the catalog.
