About Jun Murakami Synth81Z [WiN]
Originally released in 1987, Yamaha’s TX81Z provided a four‑operator FM tone generator in a 1U rack format, positioned as a low‑cost alternative to the DX7. Unlike earlier FM instruments that were limited to sine waves, it introduced additional waveform options, delivering richer timbres while retaining the classic FM synthesis workflow.
