About MaskPNGscatter

MaskPNGscatter is an After Effects plugin from Ratio that distributes any PNG or layer randomly inside a matte or mask boundary. It can generate hundreds of copies, making it suitable for particle-style effects, decorative overlays, and other creative motion graphics. The interface provides controls for the number of copies, size, rotation, position offset, and global scale, and the random seed can be animated for dynamic movement. Multiple instances can be stacked for layered effects, and the plugin operates without requiring keyframes to begin. Compatibility includes After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, and 2023. Version 1.1, released on April 6 2026, adds 16 bpc support and bug fixes.
