About Match Comp Duration

Match Comp Duration is a script for Adobe After Effects that changes the duration of selected pre‑comps and layers, propagating the change through all nested pre‑composed and locked layers down to the deepest level. It can match the selected items to the current composition duration, the current time indicator, or a custom duration you specify. When the total duration is altered, the script does not reposition layers on the timeline. Additional options let you resize nested comps to fit the current composition using fit, width, or height modes. The script is compatible with After Effects 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 and CC 2019. Version 1.1.1, released May 2025, corrected a custom‑duration issue so that the duration now respects each layer’s in‑point.
