About Pixelocybe
Pixelocybe is a hybrid mosaic and displacement filter for After Effects and Premiere Pro, created by Satori. It uses a two‑input pipeline that can read distortion from overall luminance or individual colour channels, producing pixelated, trippy visuals. Channel modes include Luma (applies equally to all channels), RGB (processes each colour separately), and single‑channel options for Red, Green, Blue, or Alpha. Mosaic Width and Height define the maximum block dimensions, while Mosaic Curve Phase offsets the curve and Curve Floor sets a minimum distortion level. Horizontal and Vertical Offset shift the source area for mosaic intensity. Transparency controls let pixels below or above a set luminosity become transparent, with Phase and Smoothing options to refine the transition. Version 1.3.0 supports After Effects and Premiere Pro releases from CS6 through 2026.
Features
- Channel modes for Luma, RGB, or a single Red, Green, Blue, or Alpha channel
- Mosaic Width and Height define the maximum block dimensions of the mosaic
- Mosaic Curve Phase offsets the curve in degrees, and Curve Floor sets the minimum distortion
- Horizontal and Vertical Offset shift where the mosaic intensity is read from
- Transparency Below and Above turn pixels beyond a set luminosity transparent
- Transparency Phase and Transparency Smoothing control and ease transparency transitions
Best for
Motion designers and video editors who need mosaic and displacement effects with luminance or channel‑specific control inside After Effects or Premiere Pro.
