About SnapFrame
SnapFrame is a script for Adobe After Effects that enables one‑click export of the current frame as an image file. It works with 8‑bit, 16‑bit and 32‑bit compositions, preserving the original colors regardless of the project’s bit depth. Your chosen export settings are remembered between uses, so you can capture a series of frames without reconfiguring each time. When a file with the same name already exists in the designated folder, SnapFrame adds a sequential number to the new file, preventing overwrites. The UI includes a Settings tab where you can adjust a delay between export and import, and a Default button restores the script’s original configuration. If an import fails due to slow disk access, a retry window appears automatically. The script is compatible with After Effects versions 2026 through 2020 and is currently at version 1.0.3, released March 13, 2025, which fixed a JSON reference error.
