About Tilda

Tilda, developed by Denis Mozgovoy, animates shape paths as moving waves within Adobe After Effects. Version 1.3 adds direct support for parametric paths, removing the need for conversion to Bézier. A Random tab provides independent control over wave length, height, and roundness. Wave speed is defined in pixels per second and is governed solely by the Speed parameter, so adjustments to wave length do not affect speed. The “Create on: Same Path” option maintains expression references when paths are duplicated. Tilda is compatible with After Effects versions 2020 through 2026 and also supports CC 2019.

The plugin is listed as free in this catalog, though licensing terms may evolve; consult the developer’s page for the latest information.

Features

  • Turns any shape path into animated waves
  • Works with both Bézier and parametric paths, with parametric support added in version 1.3 and no conversion required
  • Random tab for adding randomness to wave length, height and roundness
  • Wave speed expressed in pixels per second, controlled by the Speed parameter and independent of wave length
  • “Create on: Same Path” mode keeps a wave’s expression referencing itself even on duplicated paths

Best for

After Effects artists who need to generate animated wave effects from both Bézier and parametric shape paths.
