About Boris FX Sapphire Annual Subscription
Boris FX Sapphire is a filter set that works with After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Premiere Pro. It includes a range of transition units—such as WipeWedge, WipeWeave, WipeTiles, WipeStar, WipeStripes, WipeRings, WipeRectangle, WipePixelate, and WipeMoire—that animate between two clips using distinct shapes and patterns. The transition speed is controlled by a Wipe Percent parameter and a Border Width option adds a border at the wipe edges.
On the effects side, Sapphire offers Advanced Defocus for realistic lens blur, Texture Ridges for procedural ridged textures, and a reimagined Glare that produces blooming, streaking, and shining light. The 2026.5 release adds five new Pro Lens Flares and more than 100 new effect and transition presets, and the Effect and Transition Builder has been updated with additional tools and a faster workflow.
Sapphire runs on macOS 10.15 or newer, Windows 10 and 11, and Linux distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7‑9 or compatible equivalents. ML‑based tracking and masking tools in the integrated Mocha require macOS Monterey 12.0 or higher. Recommended hardware includes an Apple M‑series or Intel processor, or a 64‑bit Intel/AMD CPU with at least four cores, 8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB preferred), and a high‑speed SSD or disk array. The plugin is listed at no cost in this catalog, though licensing details are maintained on the developer’s site.
