About GPUDog

GPUDog provides a library of GPU‑based effects that run live inside After Effects using WebGPU or Metal. It supports After Effects 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. The plugin is offered in a free tier that includes 13 gpuppies at full quality and previews of Pro gpuppies with a watermark, while the Pro tier unlocks all 34 gpuppies, removes watermarks, and enables a live WGSL shader editor and importer. The importer detects Shadertoy, ISF and plain GLSL dialects, preserving variable names and converting only syntax and types, with validation against the same rendering compiler. Users can add custom parameters to turn imported shaders into new effects. New gpuppies are added as they are released. Version 1.3.9 (July 1 2026) fixed a panel detection issue when installed in the default Plug‑ins folder.

  • Free tier includes all 13 gpuppies at full quality; Pro unlocks all 34 with no watermark

Frequently asked questions

Which After Effects versions does GPUDog support?

GPUDog is compatible with After Effects 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.

What’s the difference between the free and Pro versions of GPUDog?

The free tier supplies 13 gpuppies at full quality and watermarked previews of Pro gpuppies; the Pro tier adds all 34 gpuppies, removes watermarks, unlocks the live WGSL editor, and includes new gpuppies as they are released.

Can GPUDog import GLSL or Shadertoy shaders?

Yes. GPUDog’s importer auto‑detects Shadertoy, ISF and plain GLSL shaders, keeps variable names, converts only required syntax, and validates the output with the same compiler used for rendering.

How do I install GPUDog?

GPUDog is installed from the aescripts website and placed in the After Effects Plug‑ins folder; version 1.3.9 corrected a panel‑detection bug that previously prompted for a subscription when the plugin was installed in the default folder.
