About RE:Vision Effects RE:Lens

RE:Lens is a plugin suite for After Effects, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve that converts between rectilinear, equirectangular LatLong, fisheye, super‑fisheye, super wide‑angle, mirror‑ball and parabolic lens‑mirror projections. It can straighten fisheye footage, correct perspective, pincushion and barrel distortion, and reduce chromatic artifacts. The spherical stabilizer tracks global camera orientation on 360 VR and fisheye clips, allowing a single analysis pass and optional profile adjustment; support for Premiere Pro was added in version 2.6.0. The tool also converts super‑fisheye to 360 VR in one step, often eliminating the need for multi‑camera stitching, and can render 360 LatLong footage to 2D while preserving a movable virtual camera for motion‑graphics re‑projection. High‑resolution panoramas and animated virtual‑camera moves are supported.

Features

  • Converts between projection formats: rectilinear, equirectangular LatLong 360 panoramic VR, fisheye, super fisheye, super wide-angle zoom, mirror ball and parabolic lens-mirror
  • Spherical stabilizer tracks and stabilizes global camera orientations in 360 VR and fisheye footage; press Track to analyze, then optionally modify the stabilization profile
  • Converts super fisheye footage to 360 panoramic VR in a single step, which can eliminate stitching from 360 workflows
  • Converts 360 LatLong VR to 2D with options to edit and animate the point of view, then project motion graphics, titles or 3D material back onto the source format
  • Straightens fisheye to rectilinear projection, with perspective correction and pincushion and barrel distortion handling for super wide-angle zoom lenses
  • Reduces chromatic distortions and fringing from curved lenses, with dedicated support for mirror-based systems such as parabolic lens-mirrors and mirror balls
  • High-resolution panorama support with animated virtual camera moves, plus an option to reduce over-stretched corners on super-wide outputs

Best for

Artists and editors who need to convert, correct, or stabilize 360 VR, 180 VR or fisheye footage across multiple projection formats in After Effects, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Frequently asked questions

Does RE:Lens work with DaVinci Resolve?

Yes. RE:Lens supports DaVinci Resolve version 15.1.1 and later, providing lens conversion, projection changes and spherical stabilization for 360 VR and fisheye footage.

What After Effects and Premiere Pro versions does RE:Lens support?

It runs in After Effects CS6 through the 2026 release, and in Premiere Pro CS6 through the 2026 release. For Premiere Pro CS6 you need RE:Lens version 6.0.5 or newer.

Can RE:Lens stabilize footage in Premiere Pro?

Stabilization in Premiere Pro is available starting with RE:Lens version 2.6.0, which adds a spherical stabilizer that tracks and stabilizes global camera orientation for 360 VR and fisheye clips.

Does RE:Lens need stitching software for 360 video?

RE:Lens can convert super‑fisheye footage directly to a 360 VR panorama, often removing the need for separate stitching software when using a suitable single‑camera setup. Whether stitching can be omitted depends on the specific lens and camera configuration.
