About Kineto

Kineto is an After Effects panel that generates shape layer animations from text prompts. Users describe an animation in plain language, and the plugin creates a fully keyframed, editable shape layer instead of a flat video. The result can be previewed in the panel and then imported directly into a composition as anchored shape groups containing real Position, Scale, Rotation and Opacity keyframes. Because the output is a shape layer, it can be retimed, restyled, and otherwise edited like any hand‑crafted animation. The panel includes interface settings, animation options, an AI‑assisted prompt optimizer, and a library for saving and later revisiting generations. Kineto version 1.0.0 was released on July 9, 2026 and is compatible with After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, CC 2019 and CC 2018. It is listed as free in this catalog.
