About ToothPaste

ToothPaste is an After Effects extension for pasting SVG graphics straight from the clipboard into a project. It supports raster images embedded within SVG files and retains a layer hierarchy that mirrors the original design application. Groups can be pasted as precompositions for better organization, and text remains editable with stroke support. Recent updates fixed issues with default black fills and compound paths. Gradient handling depends on the After Effects version; older releases may not import gradients, while newer versions provide full support. The plugin is compatible with After Effects 2026 back to CC 2014. A demo video and additional details are available from the developer.
