About Matalogue

Matalogue adds a panel to Blender’s Node Editor toolbar that enumerates node trees from several sources: shader nodes for materials and lights, geometry node modifiers and tools, various node groups, and compositing scenes. The list can be filtered to show only materials used by selected objects, visible layers, all scenes, or materials with no users. Selecting an entry switches the Node Editor to that tree and selects the associated objects. When a material has no objects, the add‑on creates a temporary dummy object to display the material and removes it when no longer needed. The Lighting section lists lamp data and World nodes, while the Compositing section lists each scene’s compositing nodes. Freestyle nodes are not supported. Version 1.5.1 adds a text alignment preference.

Features

  • Lists materials and other node trees in the toolbar of the Node Editor
  • Clicking a listed item switches the Node Editor to that tree and selects the related objects
  • Sources node trees from shader nodes for materials and lights, geometry nodes, node groups, and compositing
  • Material filters for selected objects only, visible layers only, all scenes, and 0-user materials
  • Lighting section lists lamp data and World nodes; Compositing section lists each scene
  • Creates a temporary dummy object to display unused materials, then removes it automatically
  • Text alignment preference added in version 1.5.1

Best for

Blender artists who need quick access to many materials, lights, geometry node setups, and compositing node trees without manual searching.
