About BeatEdit

BeatEdit is a plugin for After Effects and DaVinci Resolve that synchronises cuts to the rhythm of a music track. It can extend, shorten or reshuffle a track so that edits line up with the beat. The tool also generates timeline markers and clip markers, provides audio beat clicks (a metronome), and can insert subtitles tied to the beat. The current version is 1.2.007, released on March 26 2025, and it lists compatibility with DaVinci Resolve versions 21, 20, 19, 18 and 17. Recent updates fixed handling of audio files whose paths contain an ampersand, added support for audio files with more than two channels, and improved beat detection on Resolve 19. A demo video demonstrates the plugin’s capabilities.
