About Layer Memo

Layer Memo adds layer‑level note‑taking to After Effects. Each note is attached to a specific layer, and selecting a note opens the associated composition and highlights the layer in one click, eliminating manual searching. All notes are embedded in the .aep project file, so no external sidecar files are required and the extension works offline. Tags such as #todo, #client, #bug, and #done can be color‑coded, and notes can be marked resolved without deletion, preserving a history. A project‑wide search filters notes instantly, while a stats bar displays counts of open, resolved, and todo items. Compatibility is listed for After Effects 2025 and 2026, making it suitable for freelancers, motion designers, and studios handling complex, multi‑editor projects.
