Rowbyte Aura is a procedural plug‑in for After Effects that creates geometric wave shapes in 3D space. It renders hundreds of thousands of high‑frequency waves on the GPU, with a render‑quality setting to balance visual fidelity and performance. The plug‑in is camera‑aware, supporting depth‑of‑field bokeh and custom aperture controls. Waves can be animated with turbulent noise, follow motion paths, and be driven from 3D layers. Shapes originate from a built‑in polygon generator or from AE masks, including text converted to masks, and can be colored via AE layers used as color maps. Three render modes—Band, Surface, and Dots—provide visual variety. Aura also supports Multi‑Frame Rendering and SVG sequence export, and integrates with After Effects’ multi‑threaded architecture and persistent caching.
