About Smooth Rounder

Smooth Rounder generates smoothly curved shapes in After Effects, designed for use with Shape Layers. Its curves are smoother than the standard corner rounding on Ellipse or Rectangle shapes, making it suitable for modern UI designs such as super ellipse icons. When applied, the plugin adds controller effects for size, roundness, and corner radius, each of which can be keyframed to animate curve smoothness over time. As with other Shape Layer objects, fill, stroke, and related attributes remain fully controllable. The plugin is at version 1.07, last updated on September 26, 2024, which introduced a simplified undo operation. Compatibility is listed for After Effects 2022 through 2026. A demo video is provided, and the plugin is offered free in this catalog.
