About Snapshot FX
Snapshot FX lets you capture snapshots of effect stacks in After Effects and move between different states quickly. You can apply an entire snapshot or update only user‑selected components, allowing rapid iteration without rebuilding effect setups. Management tools include search, list filtering, tagging, and a directory jump‑list for building libraries or project‑specific settings. Layers are linked to effects via invisible markers placed at the layer in‑point or CTI, and renaming layers no longer breaks those links. The FX list can be sorted by alphabet, effect name, timestamp, layer name, or composition name. Recent updates added Boolean NOT search, scoped searches across data, tags, effects, layers, or comps, custom delimiters, and display preferences for snapshot naming. Compatible with After Effects 2024, 2025, and 2026.
