About Speedflow

Speedflow is a collection of modal tools for Blender, maintained by developer Pitiwazou and updated since 2016. The add‑on groups modifier work into viewport‑driven modals: select an object, launch a modal, add or adjust modifiers, then switch to another modal without leaving the 3D view. Core modals include Cutter, Array, Boolean, Bevel, Mirror, Solidify, Subsurf and Tubify. On Blender 2.8 additional modals such as Weighted Normals, Curve, Displace, Screw, Decimate, Simple Deform, Edge Split, Triangulate, Skin, Wireframe and Mod Visibility are provided. Customizable preferences allow users to add personal settings. A demo video is available from the developer.

Features

  • Cutter modal for cutting objects, making unions, making rebools (the reverse) and creating lines
  • Array modal to manage multiple Array modifiers, with circular arrays, direction changes, arrays on curves and cables using Start and End Caps
  • Boolean modal to add multiple booleans with Intersection, Difference and Union operations, rebool, and auto-update when a Bevel modifier is present
  • Bevel modal that works in subdiv and nosubdiv modes and is updated by the booleans depending on the mode
  • Tubify modal to create cables from a curve or an edges-only mesh, adjusting depth and resolutions U and V, converting to polygons and using profiles
  • Solidify and Subsurf modals to add modifiers across multiple objects, plus removal of Subsurf to clean the scene
  • Customizable preferences for adding custom settings to fit your workflow

Best for

Blender modelers who want to streamline modifier creation and editing through modal tools in the viewport.

Frequently asked questions

What extra modals does Speedflow add on Blender 2.8?

On Blender 2.8 Speedflow adds Weighted Normals, Curve, Displace, Screw, Decimate, Simple Deform, Edge Split, Triangulate, Skin, Wireframe and Mod Visibility modals, in addition to the core Cutter, Array, Boolean, Bevel, Tubify, Mirror, Solidify and Subsurf modals. The Array modal also gains a Circular Array option on this version.

How do Speedflow’s modals work?

Speedflow’s modals are interactive modes where you can create a modifier, adjust its settings, and perform actions like moving the cursor or adding subdivisions without leaving the tool. You select an object, launch a modal, add or edit modifiers, then switch to another modal as needed.

Can Speedflow create cables?

Yes. Speedflow can generate cables via two methods: the Array modal builds cables using Start and End Caps and can arrange them along curves, while the Tubify modal creates a cable in one click from a curve or an edges‑only mesh, with controls for depth, U/V resolution, polygon conversion and profile selection.

Is Speedflow free to use?

The catalog lists Speedflow as free, but licensing terms may change. Users should verify the current price and any license conditions on the developer’s page before downloading.
