About The Shipwright
The Shipwright is a Blender add‑on aimed at 3D modelers, game developers and concept artists. It automatically generates Sci‑Fi shapes and parts based on “Big Medium Small” design theory, allowing further editing or sculpting. The bundle includes three required components: the Plating Generator, the Greebles Shape Generator and Sci‑Fi Hull Materials. Users can adjust parameters dynamically, use a Levels interface to control scattering, employ an iterator to produce many variations, and work with an attached editable lattice cage for additional deformation. Custom objects can be added, default materials are replaceable, and the final model can be collapsed for export. Version 2.0.0 adds a new UI, easier installation, baking, exporting, and expanded customization options.
Features
- Dynamically change parameters and the objects update automatically
- Levels interface to customize parameters and scatter layers of objects
- Iterator feature generates many different variations overnight
- Editable lattice deformation cage attached for further shape changes
- Add your own custom objects, not just generated ones
- Collapse the object ready for export to other applications
- Default materials can be changed to suit your needs
Best for
3D modelers, game developers and concept artists creating Sci‑Fi shapes and parts within a design workflow.
Frequently asked questions
What add-ons does The Shipwright need to work?
The Shipwright requires three bundled add‑ons to function: the Plating Generator, the Greebles Shape Generator, and Sci‑Fi Hull Materials. All three are included in the standard download.
What’s new in The Shipwright 2.0.0?
Version 2.0.0 introduces a new user interface, an easier installation process, baking and exporting capabilities, greater customization options, and support for adding custom objects alongside generated ones.
How is The Shipwright different from the Starship Generator?
The Shipwright focuses on a broader design workflow, bundling plating, shape, and hull material generators to create varied Sci‑Fi components, whereas the Starship Generator is aimed at quickly producing non‑hero spaceship assets.
Is The Shipwright free?
The catalog lists The Shipwright as free, but the developer also offers paid bundle options that include or exclude required add‑ons, so the price may vary depending on the selected configuration.
