About Time Tracker

Time Tracker is a Blender extension from PhinDev that maintains a running count of how long you work inside each .blend file. A new session begins each time a file is opened, and reopening the same file adds additional sessions for the day. The add‑on uses a modal operator to provide a stop & go function that can be paused or continued manually, and it detects inactivity based on a user‑defined threshold. All tracked files appear in a timetable that can be sorted and filtered for detailed review. Version 0.2.4 introduced a Reset time option, a settings panel, and an autosave compatibility mode that allows the stop & go function to operate alongside Blender’s autosave. The add‑on requires Blender 4.2 LTS or newer and is distributed under GPL‑v3.0 or later.

Features

  • Tracks the time spent in an opened blend file, creating a new session each time the file is opened and additional sessions when it is reopened during the day
  • Stop & go function built on a modal operator, with manual pause and continue
  • Inactivity detection using a variable threshold
  • Timetable of all tracked files with a detailed, sortable and filterable overview of spent time
  • Reset time option that deletes a file’s recorded time data after a confirmation popup
  • Autosave compatibility mode so the stop & go function can run alongside Blender’s autosave
  • On/off toggle for tracking, which might affect performance

Best for

Blender users who want to measure how long they spend working in individual blend files and review that time across sessions.
