About Type

Type provides a collection of text‑animation utilities for After Effects versions 2020 through 2025. Features include per‑iteration highlight, underline and strikethrough, a multi‑line blinking cursor, Typewriter and Blinky effects that preserve character styling, and number formatting with optional leading zeros for time counters. The time counter can be paused with shift‑click, and typing tags add markers on every frame the text changes. Additional functions generate shape layers from text for frame‑by‑frame animation. Version 1.6.1 restores the 1.5.2 codebase while critical bugs are addressed. The plugin is listed as free in this catalog.
