Voice2Captions is a CEP extension for After Effects that automatically transcribes and subtitles audio using AI. It supports Whisper‑based transcription and, from version 2.1.0, a Deepgram Nova‑3 engine, and can optionally translate the text into up to 99 languages. Captions may be generated as a single‑layer transcription with timeline markers or as multi‑layer subtitles for styling and animation. The extension includes editable transcription, smart line splitting (1–10 words across 1–2 lines), and built‑in text animation presets. Exported subtitles are saved as .srt files, and FFmpeg handles internal audio conversion. It runs on Windows and macOS, supporting Intel and Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3) chipsets, and is compatible with After Effects 2026 through CC 2018. Version 2.1.0 also adds Premiere Pro support for 2020‑2026.
