About Re:Vision Effects REZup
REZup adds resolution to video using machine‑learning models while preserving detail and avoiding artifacts. It includes two plug‑ins: REZup Enhance, which lets users adjust sharpness, contrast, detail, and noise reduction, and REZup Resize, which offers zoom, aspect‑ratio changes, a reframing window, fractional scaling, and a denoise option. The plug‑ins support fractional resize factors, alpha‑weighted processing, and extended dynamic range, and can handle different X and Y scaling for anamorphic sources. Models are trained for 2×, 3×, and 4× upscaling; larger factors may require preprocessing with a denoiser or REZup Enhance first. GPU memory is a limiting factor—upscaling 1080p to 8K needs at least 8 GB VRAM. The software runs in Adobe After Effects CS6+ and Premiere Pro CS6+, DaVinci Resolve 15+, and many other hosts such as Fusion Studio, Nuke, and Final Cut Pro.
Features
- Two plug-ins: REZup Enhance for image-quality improvement with separate controls for sharpness, contrast and noise reduction, and REZup Resize for upscaling and resolution enhancement
- Fractional resizing factors, not limited to integer scales (digital zoom)
- Alpha-weighted processing that takes semi-transparent material into account
- Extended dynamic range support for pixel values under 0 and over 1.0
- Handles different scaling factors for X and Y dimensions, so it works directly on anamorphic video
- Machine-learning models trained on 2X, 3X, and 4X, plus a source-cropping window to frame your resizing
- Adaptive UI that guides you as you make changes, starting safe and simple
Best for
Upscaling standard‑definition footage to 4K, improving low‑resolution generative‑AI video, creating high‑resolution LED wall content, and remastering older 720p/1080p movies without losing bit depth.
Frequently asked questions
Does REZup work with After Effects, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve?
Yes. REZup supports Adobe After Effects CS6 and newer, Premiere Pro CS6 and newer, and DaVinci Resolve version 15.0 and newer, as well as a range of other hosts listed in the developer’s compatibility matrix.
How much VRAM does REZup need to upscale 1080p to 8K?
Upscaling a 1080p source to 8K requires a GPU with at least 8 GB of VRAM; more memory (12 GB, 16 GB, etc.) improves performance and allows higher‑resolution scaling.
What upscaling factors does REZup Resize support?
REZup Resize includes machine‑learning models trained for 2×, 3×, and 4× upscaling and also supports fractional scaling factors. For higher factors, pre‑processing with a denoiser or using REZup Enhance first is recommended.
Is REZup free?
The catalog lists REZup as free, but activation is handled through RE:Vision Effects and may involve licensing terms that are not free. Consult the developer’s site for current licensing details.
