Plumebus is an After Effects plugin that provides live 3D smoke and fire simulation directly in the timeline, offering real‑time preview and instant feedback without pre‑rendering.
Developed by Eric @ VFX Tools.

About Plumebus
Plumebus adds a GPU‑accelerated 3D smoke and fire simulation engine to Adobe After Effects, allowing users to view results live in a full‑speed viewport. The plugin includes a ray‑march render engine, a Real‑Time Editor, and two‑way sync that lets changes be sent back to the composition without a full render. Emitters can be created from spheres, boxes, meshes, text and layers, and multiple emitters may be used simultaneously. The system responds to forces, 3D colliders, After Effects lights and the camera. Over 40 presets cover scenarios such as gun smoke, explosions, fog, smoke transitions, logo reveals, and looping beds. Additional features include fire and combustion simulation, particle emission, VDB playback, and a path‑traced renderer with tonemap.
