About PhysicDesk

PhysicDesk provides a real-time 2D physics simulation directly within the After Effects viewport. Users can construct scenes using dynamic, static, and animated bodies linked by pivot, weld, spring, wheel, and rope joints. The plugin also offers force zones for wind, magnets, portal effects, and explosions, as well as particle emitters, fracture, soft bodies, and sound-driven motion. After a simulation is finalized, all motion paths are baked into native After Effects keyframes that remain fully editable. Version 1.6.23, released on June 8, 2026, lists compatibility with After Effects 2022 through 2026.

Features

  • Real-time 2D physics simulation running inside the After Effects viewport
  • Dynamic, static, and animated body types for building scenes
  • Pivot, weld, spring, wheel, and rope joints for connecting bodies
  • Force zones for wind, magnets, portal, and explosions
  • Particle emitters, fracture, soft bodies, and sound-driven motion
  • Bakes motion paths into native, fully editable After Effects keyframes
  • Compatible with After Effects 2022 through 2026

Best for

After Effects artists who need real-time 2D physics simulation and want the ability to bake results into editable keyframes.
