About AE Global Renamer 2

AE Global Renamer 2 is a bulk‑renaming utility for Adobe After Effects developed by Lloyd Alvarez. The rewrite adds a super‑tiny UI that can dock anywhere in the workspace and supports unlimited search‑and‑replace pairs, prefixes, suffixes, incremental numbering with padding, and a Regular Expressions mode. Users can rename project panel items, layer names, effect names, text within text layers, layer and composition markers, expressions, property names and their children (including masks, puppet pins, and shape‑layer properties), as well as render‑queue footage paths. Presets can be saved and name tokens such as [layername], [layerindex], [compname] and [projectname] insert contextual values automatically. The panel runs on After Effects CC 2015 through the 2026 release. Version 2.6.4 was last updated in November 2025.
