About BlenderAe2

BlenderAe2, created by Salt Media, moves 3D data and objects between Blender and Adobe After Effects in both directions. It can export meshes, vertex positions, layer transforms, camera shifts and physics‑simulation vertices from Blender to After Effects, and import layers and related data back into Blender. The plugin supports vertices, 3D layer transforms, vertex normal rotations, layer synchronization, and a glb (glTF) quick exporter that works with After Effects 23.0 and later. Installation is as a Blender extension for versions 4.2 and newer, or as an addon for Blender 3.6 LTS through 4.2. Supported platforms include macOS 10.15‑15 and Windows 10‑11. Export may be affected by certain modifiers, and non‑planar faces (Edit Mode) or non‑planar planes (Object Mode) are not currently handled.

Features

  • Two-way transfer of 3D data and objects between Blender and After Effects
  • Support for vertices, 3D layer transforms and vertex normal rotations
  • glb (glTF) quick exporter (After Effects 23.0 and above)
  • Layer synchronization and auto-connect
  • Vertex support for physics simulations, including Cloth, ocean, soft and rigid bodies
  • Blender camera shift x,y support
  • Installs as an extension in Blender 4.2 and above, or an addon in Blender 3.6 LTS to 4.2

Best for

Artists who need to move 3D geometry, camera data and physics‑simulation vertices between Blender and After Effects in either direction.
