About Bodymovin – Lottie

Bodymovin – Lottie is an After Effects extension that converts compositions into Lottie JSON files. The exported files run on the bundled lottie.js player and can render in browsers using SVG, canvas, or HTML, as well as natively on iOS and Android via Lottie. Shape support includes paths, ellipses, stars, rectangles, fills, strokes, gradients, trim paths, and partial camera handling. Transforms such as position, anchor point, rotation, scale, opacity, skew, and drop shadow are exported, and most fonts become shapes or text (requiring font loading). Masks, rounded corners, time‑remap, and limited expression support are also included. Version 5.12.1 (June 2023) added ESM support and a Transform Effect fix; recent updates improve Essential Graphics, slot handling, and canvas performance. Compatibility spans After Effects CC 2014 through 2025.
