About Deep Comp

Deep Comp is an After Effects script for navigating a project’s comps and working on precomps live. It lets you unfold a precomp’s content within the main comp, edit its layers directly, and see changes instantly. While browsing, you can open pre‑comps at any tree level, solo or unsolo them, enable or disable layers, and generate a temporary alpha‑channel checker layer. Once unfolded, layers and effects can be added or removed, and the unfolded pre‑comp can be duplicated at the project level. Compatibility spans After Effects CC through the 2026 release. This is version 1.0, released in February 2025. A demo video is available.
