Pins & Boxes replaces complex layout expressions in After Effects with two concepts. Pins are shape layers attached to a mother layer’s boundaries; when the mother layer resizes, the pins move with it, allowing other layers to be parented for relative placement. Boxes are shape layers, solids, or precomps that automatically resize to always contain their assigned pins, with border controls expressed as percentages of the box size. Shape‑layer boxes can render a single line instead of a full box, and pins and boxes can be nested to build complex hierarchies. The layouts function inside Motion Graphics Templates, updating automatically when template text is changed in Premiere Pro, and they continue to work on systems where the plugin is not installed. KBar integration enables button‑triggered functions, and scripting support exposes all features to custom After Effects scripts and automated pipelines.
