About Trim to Layer
Trim to Layer is a script for Adobe After Effects developed by Lloyd Alvarez. It provides three separate functions—Trim To Layer‑above, Trim To Layer‑below, and Trim To Layer‑fit—that adjust the selected layer’s in‑point and out‑point to match the layer directly above, below, or to fit between both. Version 2.1.1 adds a dockable user interface, KBar support, and direct argument handling, while earlier releases introduced the fit mode and improved error correction. Compatibility is listed from After Effects CS6 through the 2026 release, covering all major CC and numbered versions in that range. The script was first released in 2008 and remains available as a free download.
