About 3D Cursor Plus
3D Cursor Plus extends Blender’s 3D cursor with a set of tools built around it. It can display the cursor’s axes more clearly and add a gizmo for manipulation, offering two separate presets that can be used individually or together and switched via shortcut, panel button, or pie menu. Colors, sizes, per‑area visibility, and each preset’s behavior are adjustable, and a preset can be linked to the cursor or replace it.
The add‑on adds Undo and Redo support for the cursor, tracking its Location, Euler Rotation and Rotation Mode while ignoring Quaternion and Axis rotations. Change detection uses a short delay of about 0.3 seconds to filter out rapid, unnecessary transformations.
A group of PLUS operators wraps default Blender operators to work in reference to the 3D cursor in both Object and Edit modes. These include Snap To with its own snap list, Move, Rotate, Scale relative to the cursor, Copy Rotation, Reset 3D Cursor, and an Override for Transform Orientation and Pivot Point. Several operators respond to SHIFT and ALT modifiers to change their behavior.
Features
- Two separate gizmo and axes presets, usable individually or together, with toggling via shortcut, panel button, or pie menu; adjustable colors, sizes, per-area visibility, and behavior, plus the option to link a preset to the cursor or use it instead
- Undo and Redo support for the 3D cursor, tracking Location, Euler Rotation, and Rotation Mode (Quaternion and Axis rotations ignored) with a ~0.3 second change-detection delay
- Snap To operator with its own snap list independent from global snap options, an option to align rotation to target, and SHIFT/ALT modifiers
- Move, Rotate, and Scale operators that work along the cursor’s axes and use the 3D cursor as pivot or transform point
- Copy Rotation operator that copies the 3D cursor’s rotation to selected objects
- Reset 3D Cursor to clear rotation, location, or both, with SHIFT and ALT modifiers for each
- Override operator to set Transform Orientation and/or Pivot Point to Cursor, available as a panel or single button with modifiers
Best for
Blender artists who rely heavily on the 3D cursor and need clearer visual cues, undo/redo capability, and transform operators that reference the cursor.
Frequently asked questions
Does 3D Cursor Plus work with Blender 4.2?
Yes. 3D Cursor Plus is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and any newer version, running in the 3D View.
What cursor changes does 3D Cursor Plus track for undo and redo?
The undo/redo feature tracks three cursor parameters: Location, Euler Rotation, and Rotation Mode. Quaternion and Axis rotations are not recorded, and a ~0.3 second delay filters out rapid changes.
What license is 3D Cursor Plus released under?
The add‑on is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
Can I use 3D Cursor Plus’s gizmo instead of the standard 3D cursor?
The gizmo can be used in place of the standard cursor; you can link a preset to the cursor or replace the cursor entirely with the gizmo.
